Inspired by Richard Long we decided to do some of our own urban land art. Make the outside your canvas.
All you need are potatoes to make stamps, paintbrushes, plastic plates, something to mix the mud and chalk paints in and a wall or pavement (always check if it’s ok to do it before starting!).
Dig up some mud from the garden and mix with a little water to make mud paint. I also ground up some chalk in a pestle and mortar and mixed with water to make a contrasting chalk paint.
Painting, mark making and potato printing on the wall.

Mud and chalk prints on the wall.
Inspired by Richard Long’s prints on scaffold planks, I had a go myself.
