Make your own Mog (and she won’t forget where her cat flap is).
We’ve gone a bit Mog mad in our house lately, but we’ve always had a soft spot for this loveable pussycat.
Make a batch of salt dough and have fun making your own 3D Mog to paint.
I’m afraid to say I had fun on my own making the salt dough Mog for the boy and the girl to decorate later.
I also found some Mog printables online with colouring in pages, a maze, dot to dot, Mog mask and question sheet. The boy and the girl had fun with these for an hour or so before we started painting our salt dough Mog.
Mog mask!
Salt dough and a picture of Mog. Let’s get started.
First I made Mog’s face making an oval then adding mouth, nose, ears and eye shapes.
Mog’s face.
Next I made Mog’s body and added texture around her white bib.
Mog’s face and body.
I added legs and paws next adding some knife marks for Mog’s claws.
Looks a bit like Mog doesn’t it?
I baked Mog in a low oven for an hour but then left her to dry and harden for an additional few days. Mog’s neck had a little crack in it after baking so I patched it up with some spare salt dough and left to dry some more.
Ready to paint Mog. This is where the boy and the girl had fun.
The boy and the girl experimented with mixing the different greys for Mog’s fur.
We painted lots of stripes on Mog.
The boy and the girl added lots of texture and detail with the paint. We also painted Mog’s nose pink and her eyes golden.
The finished Mog.
