This was AMAZING fun! Create your own colourful action art.
I’ve been trying to think how to do this for a while then I asked my husband if he could help and he said “This is a job for my old Lego Technic!”. So we built our own turntable. And had lots of fun! LOTS!
This would be a great idea for a birthday party! Get the kids to build the mechanisms first then let loose with the paint!
Spinning mechanism and motor built by the beard with Lego Technic.
Attaching the turntable to the motor.
I used a cardboard pizza base as the turn table. Place everything in a high sided cardboard box to catch the splatters.
Use a plate as a template to cut circles of white and coloured paper or card.
The boy having a go. Dribble paint from a height onto the spinning turntable.
The boy’s first painting.
The girl’s turn.
The girl’s first painting.
The edges of the box started to look as colourful as the paintings.
Black, blue, white and red paint on red card.
Green, blue and white paint on orange card.
Red and blue paint on white paper.
