Cut up a paper plate into quarters and see how many patterns you can make.
What you’ll need:
Paper plates
Scissors
Something to decorate with (we used pastel chalks but you can use paints, felt pens, pencils, crayons, inks…)
What to do:
Starting from the centre of the paper plate, draw circles in different colours all the way round to the outside, like the rings on a tree log.
Repeat with different colours on a few plates.
Cut each plate into quarters.
Start playing and see how many different patterns you can make.
This is a great activity to learn about whole, halves and quarters.
