Make an indoor Christmas wreath you can use year after year.
This was something I made on my own with a little help from the girl. She enjoyed arranging the holly leaves and decorating with sparkly pipe cleaners.
Remember glue guns are for adult use or for older kids under adult supervision.
Things you’ll need:
Felt (different colour greens, red and yellow)
Pipe cleaners
Sewing machine
Glue gun and glue sticks
Wreath ring cut out of cardboard
Felt Christmas holly wreath.
Cut out lots of holly leaves from different coloured greens along with red circle berries.
I decided to re use our Halloween spiderweb as a base for the wreath.
Play around with arranging the holly leaves in different ways until you’re happy. You could just glue the leaves and berries on with a glue gun at this stage if you didn’t want to do any sewing.
Cut green sparkly pipe cleaners and zig zag stitch them onto the leaves to make them look like real holly leaves.
Bend the pipe cleaners (this will give the wreath a more 3D look).
Sew a batch of leaves with golden pipe cleaners for a bit of contrast.
Get the glue gun ready!
Glue one colour of green all around the wreath base. The girl decided to keep the spiderweb in the middle and decorated it with red sparkly pipe cleaners.
Glue two holly leaves together and glue a red berry or two at the join.
I cut some light green holly leaves, with no pipe cleaners, to use to fill in any gaps.
I cut yellow berries to stick to the light green non pipe cleanered leaves.
The finished wreath.
