Do you have an unused corner of your garden? Turn it into an outside imaginative play area.
I turned a neglected corner of our garden into a play area for the boy and the girl to use with their construction toys and dinosaurs.
After digging out the weeds, all I had to do was lay down a membrane and fill with play bark and pebbles.
Play bark. I got all the materials I needed from B&Q.
Pebbles.
This membrane should protect against weeds growing up through the bark and pebbles.
I laid the membrane with a generous overlap and filled with my materials. We also had a large piece of tree stump I wanted to use too.
I used an old spatula to push the membrane overlap into the soil edges.
Finished! Now all it needs are some toys and some kids to pay in it.
The diggers got the first go. The boy and the girl used this play area a lot with their toy dinosaurs too.
The girl decided the play area needed some trees so we painted some on the surrounding walls. We used acrylic paints, paintbrushes and cut our own leaf stamps from kitchen sponges.
